Under plans announced by the Cabinet Office in December, the government is looking to implement a range of measures to increase the UK’s resilience and strengthen how the country prepares for and responds to emergencies. These include ideas such as establishing a new UK Resilience Academy and appointing a Head of Resilience in what The Times said is an effort to “guard against ‘black swan’ events such as Covid.”
