We are seeing a rampant acceleration of technology on an unprecedented scale, more than at any other time in history, and it’s presenting a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity. It’s estimated that the frontier technology industry, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, web3, the metaverse, quantum computing and blockchain, is already worth $350 million, and by 2025, that is set to grow to over $3.2 trillion. There is, however, a fundamental issue that exists when it comes to capitalising on that opportunity, and that is that our education systems can’t keep pace with the rate of change. This is causing an increase in employers struggling to find the talent that they need, because, in physical terms, it doesn’t exist yet.
