Philippine gov’t body seeking nearly $1bn digital infrastructure budget

The department wants to speed up the roll out of internet infrastructure and warns rollouts are delayed, with only 2,000 out of 50,000 cell towers deployed so far.

The Philippine government, through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), said it will invest P50 billion (US$960 million) in digital infrastructure over the next three years.
