Chair of the Open Infrastructure Foundation Board, Senior Principal Software Engineer, RedHat
To understand Open Infrastructure, you must consider what if there was not Open Infrastructure. Imagine if telephone cables were never installed to connect continents. Imagine if we simply did not have the Internet we have come to know today. If you wanted to write a letter to a friend, you would quite literally write a letter, and send it via postal mail. Imagine if the conflict over Alternating Current or Direct Current was still underway today. The world would look drastically different to us, because we did not have some fundamental technologies upon which today’s society is built.
