Indonesia’s latest mage-project, a mega resort town named Lido city, is set to incorporate a data centre and tech park to cater to the IT needs of the city.
MNC Group is leading the data centre project part of a Techno Park in the resort city via its real estate development subsidiary PT MNC Land Tbk.
PT MNC Land Lido, a further subsidiary but this time of PT MNC Land Tbk, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with PT Infokom Elektrindo, a business unit of PT Global Mediacom Tbk, to develop the infrastructure.
PT Infokom Elektrindo has been tasked with delivering the internet backbone, fibre-optic network, and data centre for Lido City.
Darma Putra, President Director at MNC Investama, who has been exploring investment opportunities in MNC Lido City, said: “For the data centre, many potential investors come from Korea and the Middle East: they are interested in building a data centre in Lido City.”
Hary Tanoesoedibjo, President of MNC Media, added: “Infokom’s experience in the digital business infrastructure and ICT solutions combined with the strategic location and development ambitions of the SEZ MNC Lido City will highlight Techno Park to be one of the largest high-tech ecosystems in Indonesia.”
Lido City will be an extensive 7,400-acre complex of entertainment venues, country clubs, luxury resorts and residences in the forests of West Java.
The MNC Group, via MNC Lido City, will build within the Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with the development of integrated lifestyle residential, commercial, entertainment, and resort destination area of 3,000 hectares, surrounded by a population of more than 70 million people.
The company describes the project on its website as: “Lido City will present MNC World Lido which will feature MNC Park – the first international standard Theme Park in Indonesia, Retail, Dining & Entertainment, Luxury Hotels & Resorts, PGA Standard 18-hole Golf Course designed by Ernie Els, Exclusive Villas, Movieland – The Most Integrated & One Stop Studios, Lido Music & Arts Centre – The First Class Outdoor Music & Arts Festival Venue in Indonesia, Lido World Garden which will highlight the beauty of parks around the world, the techno park and data centre, international circuit, university, and other supporting facilities.”
